Nine

One of our boys turns nine today and he is so easy to celebrate these days. That was not always the case and I can give you the details another time. Just know he is unique and one of a kind. The Lord has used him in many ways to shape me into more of His likeness.

Just the other day on the way home from school, this boy was talking about heaven. He loves the Lord with all of his heart and to be with Him in eternity is almost too much for him to wrap his mind around. We talked about how his job until heaven is to tell and show people the love of God. He has been given the good news and loves to share it anytime. He said that people who love each other sometimes hire sky writers to write “I love you” in the sky. He said he would like to write “God Loves You” in the sky so the whole world would know. I told him God does that everyday with the sunrise and sunset. That made his day!

So, if you want to give our boy a gift and you do not know Jesus, would you accept His free gift of grace today? If you do know Him, would you tell someone else about the best gift they could ever receive? I can think of no better way to celebrate than with the angels for, “…there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” (Luke 15:10).

Happy Birthday Eli!
